Learning to Make Greeting Cards
|September 27, 2013||Posted by Issa under Simple-Eco-Happy|
I’ve started a new hobby recently, which I hope to turn into a business. I’ve been making handmade greeting cards.
Like many people, I’ve dabbled in lots of different crafts over the years. I’ve tried sewing several times, and while it sounds nice in theory, I always hate the practice. I flirted with jewelry making once. I made candles for a while. I enjoyed that enough that I still own all my equipment in case I want to do it again in the future, but it never grabbed me enough to become A Thing.
I was inspired to try card making by beautiful cards I saw on Pinterest. I bought some supplies, gave it a try… and I love it. It feels like I’ve finally found “my” craft.
I’ve been busy experimenting with different techniques like embossing and inking effects, and playing with different tools and materials. I’m really enjoying myself and learning a lot.
Maybe soon I will have an Etsy shop to announce!
What kinds of crafts do you do? What have you tried and discarded? What has stuck? Do you have an Etsy shop?
