Pregnancy Nonsense
| October 24, 2010 | Posted by Issa under Pregnancy and Birth |
Joshua and I hang out with people who are educated about pregnancy and birth and we’re pretty well educated ourselves. We’re also snarky assholes. Since I’m going to a mainstream OB practice for at least the next couple of months, we’re going to get plenty of information that’s oh so snarkable. Keep Reading

Chickens in the Yard
| July 12, 2010 | Posted by Issa under Animals |
Joshua and I got four chickens a couple of months ago. Joshua built a movable chicken coop for them, which they’ve been kept in full time. They are laying eggs regularly, now, very consistently three a day. This past week, Joshua decided it was time to let them out during the day. Now, the four chickens wander about the yard during the day and wander back into the coop in the evening. Keep Reading

Penguin Tattoos
| May 6, 2010 | Posted by Issa under Body Modification |
Joshua and I finally got our penguin tattoos that I mentioned in this post. We got them done at Only You Tattoo in Atlanta, GA. We looked around a bit for a place to get them in Knoxville, but then we were going to be in Atlanta around the right time, so we just went with a place there that a friend recommended.
Pulling our penguins from the book Your Personal Penguin, Joshua got the penguin from the page with, “Look at these wings, so perfect to hold you.” I got the dancing penguin from the cover (mine’s on the left). They’re about the same size, the photos are just taken from different distances. Keep Reading
Formspring Questions

A bit ago Iput up the link to my Formspring page, which is a place where you can ask anonymous (or not) questions. Feel free to pop over there and ask your own questions or to read the others I’ve answered. It’s completely open ended – questions can be intimate, rude, silly, thought-provoking, completely random – so ask away! Here are some of my favorite questions that I got and my answers to them: Keep Reading
Daydreaming Homesteading
| February 15, 2010 | Posted by Issa under Uncategorized |
I found this post in my drafts. Apparently, I never posted it. It’s 5 months later now, and I’m well settled into my new home at The Wallow. What has happened and what has yet to come? Here’s the draft I wrote back in August:
“I won’t be moving to my new house in Tennessee until October. So much waiting! I’m reading up on bees and pigs in the meantime, as well as prepping for Burning Man and Alchemy, which happen between now and then. There’s lots to do, but I’m spending a lot of time daydreaming away, too.” Keep Reading
