Positive Sexuality

For Alchemy 2010, I’m running a theme camp called Fucking Awesome that’s centered around positive sexuality. We’re planning for everything from sex education classes to open orgies. I know a lot of people who do work to help bring a more positive view of sexuality to the people around them. Sometimes it seems like a lot of progress has been made, and sometimes it seems like sex will always be a dirty little secret in this culture. I wondered, How will we know when sex is actually viewed, culture-wide, as a positive thing? What will it look like? What will be different about our everyday lives? Keep Reading
Random Update on Me

Joshua and I have been trying to get pregnant for about three years, to one extent or another. We gave the non-medical route a year to work on its own. Then for a year or so we tried the half-assed medical route, which involved a doctor who would give me Clomid but not do much else. After two miscarriages, we spent several months on pause. Now, I’ve been added to Joshua’s insurance, and we’re ready to go the medical path to pregnancy, at least for a little while. Keep Reading
Polyamory – Control vs. Freedom

A basic definition of polyamory goes something like this: A relationship structure that allows for the possibility of romantic/sexual relationships with more than one person at a time with the full knowledge and agreement of all participants. Not surprisingly, there are lots of variations amongst people who call themselves polyamorous. While there is plenty of room for me under the poly umbrella, I’ve recently begun to shy away from it a bit, leaning towards just calling myself slutty instead. I am still polyamorous; it’s just that I don’t want to give people the wrong idea. There’s a lot that gets said about polyamory that doesn’t suit me at all. Keep Reading
