I ran across this image on Pinterest that follows a chain of events. I think it’s supposed to be funny.
I’m gonna have to go with not funny. Too accurate to be funny.
I’ve only very recently (relatively) been getting used to calling some of my issues anxiety instead of depression. This type of chain of thinking probably falls into that category.
It’s not a conscious chain of connections. It feels more like “Lost pen? Panic! Aaaaaaaaah!” but when I chase down the micro-thoughts and the relevant family history, this little graphic becomes a startlingly accurate portrayal of how some thought-feeling chains go.
Sometimes I need to literally say out loud, “No one is going to die because I lost my pen.”
It’s weird. But it is.
