Baby movements: The internet tells me that it’s a bit early for that. Most sites put feeling the first movements closer to 20 weeks, and they say it may be even longer for fat women. Still. There’s this feeling I get, very occasionally and only on one side, that I’m pretty sure is the baby moving. Maybe I’ll change my mind later, when something more definitive comes along, but that’s what I think right now.
Braxton-Hicks: I’m not supposed to be feeling these until much later, either – closer to 28 weeks, but these I’m more sure about. A uterine contraction is a uterine contraction. This has also only happened a couple of times, but it’s very distinct.
Belly size: My belly is definitely changing shape. This has an effect on my sleeping positions, which I’ve mostly adjusted to. It also affects my sitting comfort, and I haven’t quite figured that out yet. When I’m trying to be on the computer or read a book, there are very few ways for me to sit that don’t hurt my back, but there are very few ways for me to lay down that don’t hurt my belly. It’s weird that such a small change in my shape is so hard to get used to, and it’s going to be ridiculous 5 months from now.
